Your Best XI
Who would you go with if you had full fit squad

My choice:
Adrian

Tomkins Reid Ogbonna Cresswell

Kouyate Song

Antonio Payet Lanzini

Sakho

Bench: Randolph, Moses, Collins, Carroll, Obiang, Jenkinson, Noble

Cant even place Jelavic, Oxford or Cullen on the bench!

Although I think Song is a much better player than Noble I don't think he plays that position in a 4231 as well
I think his big drop off in form was because we changed formation half way through last season to accommodate Nolan
Song and kouyate was playing wide in the diamond where he could play further forward then we switched to a 4231 to allow Nolan to play in the hole and song played with noble as one of the two and this did him no favours playing deeper as when he gets caught on the ball which he does frequently teams are straight into the back four
I think he'd be better served playing in the 3 as his real strength is sinking little balls in and around the box I think he'll link up superbly with Payet
I also don't think kouyate is disciplined enough to play in the two especially against the better teams as he goes marauding forward a lot which is great as he's got an unbelievable engine but I think that's why we've got picked off in the home games

he also chased Lanzini last summer when Bilic was still in Turkey, sop he obviously rates him

Re: Your Best XI
Maybe he does, but then to go to Sullivan and ask for £7 mil seems strange with Moses already in the bag

Form wise Antonio involved in 29 of Forest's last 50 goals, so stakes a claim to be in from the off there

Re: Your Best XI
Werent there a £8 million signing on fee ? So the initial outlay for Ayew was actually more then Emnes

Of course there is examples where it isn't the case......but generally the highest transfer fees in a squad will be amongst the highest earners of the initial contract.

Re: Your Best XI
Maybe he fancies Lanzini more than Antonio considering he brought in Lanzini first.

The Mark Noble that played at Anfield was better than the Alex Song of this year.

It's all about FORM

"Wages are usually related to transfer fee"

again you are being quite naive and a bit thick. do you reckon andre ayew (free transfer) earns more, or less, at swansea than say marvin emnes, whom they paid a fee for?

Wages are usually related to transfer fee

From our current squad if you listed the money per week of their first contract then listed their transfer fee i reckon they would run very close to parallel

Eg....record signing Carroll...highest earner ....Carroll

Re: Your Best XI
Trev it's counter productive because in my opinion the captain should be one of the first names on the team sheet based on ability.

I am struggling to put Noble into the starting 11 based on ability, so if he is going to start because he is the captain then it will ahead of a player(s) with more ability than him which is counter productive. Alternatively he starts on the bench and again for me having your captain on the bench is counter productive.

Why would it be counter productive? Isn't thinking like that the reason why Nolan stayed in the side for so long when playing poorly?

For me our best starting 11 when every one is fit does not include our captain which is a bit counter productive

Absolute rubbish. Now, if you had said wages then you may have been closer to having a valid point.

Obviously my point is regarding when they first come to the club not after 3 years of shit performances. I'm confident you would of known that already.

Now who's making stuff up

My belief is that Bilic must fancy Moses/Antonio more in the wide areas

Disagree if you like, but don't put words in my mouth

Re: Your Best XI
Lanzini is on loan with an option to buy (how much we don't know) but by Rossals flawed logic he's not as good as someone brought outright for cash.

Point still valid though regarding the expense of the transfers plays a part in what role of the squad they will take up. As does age.

should we not have kept Jarvis then?

Re: Your Best XI
I'd also be VERY happy if he's better than Moses and probably quite surprised
Can't imagine many have actually seen him play
